Description:
|
Church has established himself as the muscle in the close-knit Italian Carrazza crime family, prolific producers of methamphetamines. Headed by Ben Carrazza, they use their rural olive oil business as a cover. With Angie and Chris searching for the Carrazza’s lab, Chris is charged with going in as an olive picker.
Ben discovers that his son, Aggi, has been seen out carousing with a cop. When Church is urgently called back to Carrazza’s orchard, he is told that Aggi and Nick (Ben’s 2IC) have taken the cop hostage and are on their way over with him. They arrive with the cop in the boot, Church is horrified to find Harris.
Harris is interrogated by Ben. Church learns of Harris’s continued excesses with opium, and when ordered by Ben to kill Harris, wonders whether his boss does in fact deserve to die. Nevertheless, he alerts Angie via a message on her mobile.
Meanwhile, Church and Nick have driven Harris to a remote spot to kill him. Church buys time by making Harris dig his own grave, and just when it seems Church will have no choice than to kill Harris or arrest Nick, Angie turns up. Church fires a couple of bullets to preserve the illusion for Nick, but when they return to Carrazza, Nick (who views Church as a rival) claims responsibility for the shooting.
But Ben is soon wondering why the cop’s death isn’t in the papers. Aggi becomes suspicious, and when Harris returns home, he finds Aggi there waiting for him. Harris convinces Aggi to work with him, feigning a new “opium for protection” deal. But Aggi, who hates Nick and is jealous of his position, reveals the news re Harris’s survival to his father. Believing Nick to be a police informer, Ben executes him.
The team then mobilises for a big deal going down between Carrazza and an Asian methamphetamine dealer, Hiram Jang. When it appears that the deal is actually for olive oil rather than drugs, the u/cs and Masters think they’ve been outsmarted, but Church realises that the mysterious oil is in fact meth freebase and is being imported in Carrazza’s own brand of olive oil tins. Church arrests Carrazza, while Harris, in a final showdown with Aggi, faces the ultimate temptation and prevails.
Harris’ reward is a painful withdrawal process.
