Description: Chris meets up with an old friend from her days on the street, Karl Evans. Karl, a former druggie, has cleaned up his act. Chris is really pleased to see him doing well. After they get over the initial catch-up he says he has some information on a crime. Before he can give her the details they are interrupted by his boyfriend Julian. Karl promises to call Chris. He never does.

Chris gets the news that Karl's body was found at the base of the Black Rock cliff. The local police are treating it as a suicide but Chris can't accept this. She believes Karl was killed because of the information he was going to give her. When Julian doesn't attend the funeral she becomes increasing suspicious that he was involved in foul play. At the wake she hears some of Karl's old school friends talking about someone being responsible for Karl's death.

Chris enlists Katherine's help and they head to Black Rock. They find a piece of Karl's necklace. This only makes Chris more certain she's right. Katherine gets assigned to another case with a slight wrap over the knuckles from Chatterly. Frank Donaldson has been found bludgeoned to death in a carpark.

Chris takes Flynn to Karl's flat for a look. They find what appears to be blood in the kitchen. Harris lets Chris continue her search for Julian. Meanwhile U/C have been enlisted to help on the Donaldson investigation. It appears that it might be a gay hate crime.

But they soon discover Donaldson was a paedophile. His long term friend is an ex-brother Michael Swan. It is discovered that Swan taught at the same school that Karl attended and Donaldson worked there also. What's more, Megan discovers that Karl had recently tried to contact Donaldson.

Chris re-establishes contact with Karl's old school friends: Robbo, Boofa and Lordy. She discovers that they have information only known to the cops and the killers of Frank Donaldson. An operation is set in motion to get more information from Lordy but it looks like being a fizzer until Flynn discovers another piece of Karl's beaded necklace.

Chris confronts Boofa and Robbo as they are in the process of torturing Michael Swan. Boofa finally confesses to killing Karl because he was going to go public with the abuse that was committed against all of them.
