Description: A recent string of major drug arrests has Undercover riding a wave of success, thanks in no small part to Harris' highly placed informant, Menios Sarellis. With Harris naturally guarded about the identity of his source, his professional motives are brought into question when it’s revealed that it's not just information being peddled by Sarellis, but opium to service Harris' growing appetite. Indeed Sarellis has his hooks deep into the Head of Undercover: exploiting him to take out the competition, using his position inside PHQ to ensure his interests are protected, all the while carrying on his own drug activities, the scope of which far outstrips that of the dealers against whom he's supplying information. When Sarellis' 2IC, Frank Mornain, is arrested in possession of a large cache of ecstacy, Harris intimidates the man into silence lest he reveal his boss' identity to Reg Masters of Drug Squad. But it soon becomes clear that Harris has made a deal with the Devil when Mornain is found murdered in his cell, Sarellis having ordered the killing to ensure the man's silence once and for all. But, as he discovers, it's not a relationship he will be able to extricate himself from easily.

Meanwhile, Angie and Church have an operation underway against husband and wife ecstacy dealers, Anthony and Jenny Oxley-Jones. Operating on information supplied by Harris' mystery informant, the investigation sees them chance into Sarellis' organisation by way of Frank Mornain, whose pit bull leaves Anthony Oxley-Jones in serious need of a cranio-facial reconstruction. Later, when Mornain is murdered, Angie and Church agitate to drop the investigation into the Oxley-Jones' in favour of going after any and all leads on the murderer. Though Harris declines their request, Church pursues enquiries regardless and stumbles onto the truth of Harris' opium addiction and deal with Sarellis. Now outed, Harris' career seems in ruin, unless he can find a way to outmaneuver Church.

Harris' problems, however, are not confined to the professional front. Tensions between he and his daughter, Katherine, intensify after Harris learns of her brief fling with Leo. And Katherine is carrying her own burden. Early analysis indicates she has likely inherited bi-polar disorder from her father. While this compounds her ill-feeling towards Harris, the true basis of spite is much more confronting and horrifying.

Media Release: His addiction to opium rapidly taking hold, Luke Harris is heading into extremely dangerous territory. And Church is about to uncover his boss’s dark secret. He learns that Harris’s supplier is manipulating Harris to keep himself out of jail. But Harris’s problems don’t end there. The undercover unit chief, who recently made the shock discovery that new Homicide detective Katherine Marks is his daughter, tries to make amends with Katherine.
