Description: When Jake Taylor is unexpectedly granted bail, U/C mobilises to protect Taylor’s wife, Veronica, and son, Jasper. While Harris attempts to stall the bail order, Angie is charged with convincing Veronica to move into a safe house.

Whilst at Veronica's, Angie receives a call from Josh's creche. He has a fever and needs to be picked up. Veronica, under the belief that Taylor won't be released until she is safe, convinces Angie to take care of her son. Unbeknown to Angie, however, Harris has failed in his attempts to delay Taylor's bail. Chris and Flynn keep tabs on Taylor, observing a meeting between him and another man (George Soulos). When they lose Taylor through the beer garden of a pub, Harris orders them to Veronica's. When they arrive, shots ring out in the house. Inside, they find a dead Taylor, and Veronica holding the smoking gun.

Angie returns from dealing with Josh to be greeted with a crime scene. As she comforts Veronica, who claims to have shot Taylor in self defence, Chatterly arrives with a new homicide detective, Katherine Marks. She takes charge, running foul of Harris, but making a good impression on Flynn. Under questioning back at PHQ, Veronica sticks to her self defence story, even though Katherine appears to doubt it. This causes friction between U/C and Homicide, a problem exacerbated by Harris's attempts to cover for Angie's failure to protect Veronica.

Meanwhile, Church has recognised Soulos as a known hitman. Harris orders him and Flynn to track him down. Later, Harris turns up at Angie's, and a moment of support leads to intimacy and Harris spending the night.

Katherine accuses Harris of corruption in his protection of Angie. It seems Harris has a new and formidable nemesis. Church tracks Soulos down and sets up a payment sting for the hit. And Angie also finds herself running foul of Katherine when she vigorously defends Veronica.

When new ballistic evidence throws Veronica's story into doubt, Katherine goes for the jugular. Veronica holds firm, though. Church's meeting with Soulos doesn't eventuate, but GPS tracking of Soulos's car indicates the hit on Veronica is a go. In tracking Soulos, however, it becomes evident that Angie is his target. Informed just in the nick of time, Angie shoots Soulos outside her house.

Questioning of Soulos provides fresh evidence - Taylor made a video call to Veronica just before the shooting. Retrieving Veronica's phone at her house leads to Katherine's discovery of more crucial evidence, implicating Veronica further. Under intense questioning, and confronted with the evidence of Taylor's video message to her, Veronica admits to murdering her husband.

Media Release: When local drug baron Jake Taylor is unexpectedly released on bail, the undercover unit quickly steps into action to protect his battered wife, Veronica, and their young son, Jasper. But things go tragically wrong when Angie (Kate Kendall), who convinced Veronica to incriminate her husband, leaves Veronica’s side to attend to an urgent family matter of her own.

Another tweaking of the Stingers cast: former Secrets Life of Us star Gigi Edgley arrives as homicide detective Katerine Marks. She's straight out of CSI or Law and Order: causing trouble from the get-go as she rubs Luke (Gary Sweet) up the wrong way and questioning his working relationship with Angie (Kate Kendall).

Watch for: Sophie Lee continuing her role as Veronica Taylor, the abused wife of a drug dealer who has a fiery showdown tonight.
