Description: Harris goes undercover against wannabe drug kingpin, Ed Cleaver. His talent for languages has given him an in as translator to Cleaver, who is in the process of negotiating a massive heroin deal with members of a visiting Malaysian drug cartel. The Malaysians drive a hard bargain. A questionable upping of the price of their product pushes Cleaver’s limited patience and racial sensitivities to the limit and Harris has to work overtime to keep the deal from falling through. But despite tensions between the parties, there is still the ceremonial imperative of entertaining the guests. This sees Harris chaperoning them to brothels, even having to partake in the smoking of an opium pipe.

The opium unleashes a strong emotional response in Harris. Through his drug haze he glimpses a happy alternative to his current existence - his son safe and secure living under his roof and Angie is at his side. The reality, unfortunately, is so different and what becomes clear through the story is the shattering effect that Josh’s kidnapping has had on him and residual feelings of guilt about that and the breakdown of his marriage to Angie. He wants it all back, but that’s not a possibility. There is, however, another option. The opium he was reluctant to smoke at the beginning of the episode has its charms by end, if only to dull his pain and dream him into a life that could have been.

Meanwhile $200,000.00 of police money nefariously seeded to Cleaver to help secure the deal with the Malaysians goes AWOL. Disastrously for the UC’s, rather than send the money the Malaysians way as planned, Cleaver caves to pressure from his fiancée, Rochelle, to make good his promise to float her burgeoning singing career. With no record label prepared to back her, a love-struck Cleaver has unwittingly sunk the police money into the purchase of a recording studio. As the undercover operation threatens to go belly up, Church (posing as a drug buyer) has to threaten Cleaver with a violent death, while Angie simultaneously manoeuvres into play as a potential backer in hope of coaxing Cleaver to withdraw from the purchase of the studio in favour of a more economical option. The ploy works and the operation is soon back on track.

Or so it seems. Rochelle has historically been against the deal and will go to any extreme to make sure it doesn’t happen, even if it means turning Cleaver against his new best buddy, Harris.

Romance seems to promise for Sophie when Adrian takes an active interest in her research assignment on the recent cases of necrophilia. He even kisses her, which comes as a complete surprise since she was under the impression he was gay. But there is nothing straightforward about this guy. One moment he’s hot for her, the next he’ll hardly even acknowledge her. Sophie is left confused and upset. Then her investigations of the necrophiliac begin to narrow on Adrian as the prime suspect. Rather than report her discoveries to the Sexual Offences Unit, she confronts him personally and urges him to get help. Devastating for Sophie, Adrian hangs himself.
