Description:
|
HARRIS comes up with a clever but somewhat lateral idea to nail a high profile gangster, Craig Levine. Through his contacts he has discovered that Levine seems to have a strong interest in boxing as a result of his relationship with a woman, Celeste Redding. HARRIS devises a plan in which CHRIS will infiltrate the gym and establish the connection between Celeste and Levine. He believes that Levine's involvement in the boxing consists of illegal betting and intends to use it to undertake a full scale investigation into Levine's wealth; it's the Al Capone theory that you catch the guy on some piss ant crime then use it to go through his empire with a fine tooth comb.
CHRIS successfully infiltrates the gym, using the two female boxers being trained by Celeste. Amy and Tegan are sisters who have grown up the hard way and while they tolerate Chris' presence they simply don't take her seriously. However, when Chris discovers that Amy is taking money to throw fights the UC's have the leverage they need. HARRIS, with Amy's help, presents himself as Chris' manager and approaches Celeste Redding with a plan to rig a fight. However, when Celeste baulks at the idea of a partnership Harris is forced to use his sex appeal to win her over.
Everyone has to agree that Harris' plan seems to be working… that is until their informant, Amy, suddenly dies due to a blood clot in the brain.
Chris refuses to accept that they must back off the case. She has become involved with the sisters and blames Craig Levine for Amy's death. She has heard from Amy that Levine has been exploiting her for some time and has made serious threats against her little sister Tegan, in an effort to keep Amy in line. In the process of setting up the case against Levine, Chris has caused a huge rift between Tegan and Amy. When Amy dies and Tegan is left in the clutches of the gangster, Chris feels duty bound to stop Levine from getting anywhere near the girl.
HARRIS approaches Levine and offers him a deal; Levine will pay Harris a fee for providing Chris and make sure Tegan takes a fall. While CHRIS is a little nervous she is reassured by Tegan beforehand that she is being paid to throw the fight… it will all be over in a matter of minutes.
The UC's set up for a huge bust as they're going to bring Levine’s entire empire down in one swoop. As the fight begins and Harris receives his payment it looks like all has worked perfectly until they suddenly realise that Chris is in the ring with a girl who is out to avenge her sister and she's taking everyone down with her.
Meanwhile, Flynn's involvement with Mia deepens when she is victim of a violent theft. He goes after the perp himself but discovers that his passion is not enough to charge the guy. But it is enough to make Mia feel a whole lot better…
